Somewhere in Hollywood, a Set Builder is Ticked

When Danielle was nominated, Will made sure she didn't have a chance to talk to Erika. He should have done the same thing this week to keep Erika away from Janelle. With nothing to lose, Erika was bound to spill everything and make Janelle realize that she'd been played. And to her credit, Janelle finally smartened up and made the right play. As much as I wanted to see Will pull off the impossible, Janelle is the other worthy candidate.

Meanwhile, shortest... endurance challenge... ever. I feel bad for the craftspeople who put that volcano together and then never even had it erupt. Perhaps they'll recycle it next season. And Mike... you're no Richard Hatch.

So here's the thing. Neither Erika nor Mike can possibly take Janelle to the end, because no matter what people think of her, they respect her. How can you not? She's only still in the house because every time she was in danger, she won the necessary competition to keep herself safe. Taking her to the finals is tantamount to handing her the check. And if Janelle wins HoH, I don't think it matters who she takes, If the final two are Erika and Mike, I'm not sure who wins. Neither was a power player. Erika floated below the radar until the late game, and Mike hid in Will's shadow. The jury's pretty pissed at Will, and that animosity might well carry over to Mike. On the other hand, they might feel that while Mike was part of a masterful campaign to survive and manipulate others, Erika was just not worth anyone's time to evict.

Chances are it won't matter. Janelle's come through in the clinch time after time this season. She'll be bringing her A-game to parts two and three of the HoH competition, and I certainly wouldn't bet against her.

Yeah, the endurance competition fizzling out like that was surreal and hilarious. I wonder if they'll have a do-over (like when Howie's buzzer broke) because clearly there was miscommunication about the rules (both hands vs. one hand). On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Erika would have won anyway, and this way Janelle can save her energy. Although really she just needs to get a trivia game because apparently no one else pays enough attention.

Do you think Erika will keep her word and take Janelle if she wins? I think Janelle will, since she can probably beat Erika just as well as Mike (though it would be a closer vote). Erika's better off next to Mike, but she might still be playing emotionally and go for revenge against Chilltown.

I'm surprised Will didn't pull out the threat card: "Janelle, if you vote me out, I'll turn the jury against you." And he probably could have, or at least made Janelle believe he could have. But maybe he truly did not see it coming? Maybe they didn't show the scenes of Janelle & Erika reassuring Chilltown that they were safe?

Yeah, I don't get Boogie's move. Thinking about it, Janelle is under NO obligation to take him to the Final. And Erika will eject him out of spite, if anything (although that would be foolish on her part to do so; keep reading.)

I fully agree that if Janelle goes to the Final, she wins, either as the player who finally rumbled to and ejected Will, or the player who ejected BOTH members of Chilltown. How do you NOT give the check to the person who did that?

If Boogie and Erika go, Erika wins. She might not DESERVE to, but she's got four votes: Janelle, Danielle, George, and Howie. And she MIGHT turn James or Marcellas when Janelle tells the tale of how they busted Chilltown, but she doesn't need them.

Erika's really in good shape, here, she's pretty much guaranteed $50K, because both Boogie and Janelle need to take her to the Final. Boogie needs to knock out Janelle, and Janelle needs to be the person who knocked out both of Chilltown. She's the one who should have Hatched the endurance game, not Boogie.
