You Got Served

If you caught the faint echo of a whoop of exultation on tonight's winter wind, that was my cheer at the elimination of the abusive Jonathan and shrieking Victoria from The Amazing Race. Rarely have two people risen so much bile to my throat so quickly. Now we can finally watch the show in peace.

Not quite in peace yet. We need to get rid of "These people just keep breeding" and "I'll break you in half" next.

Right, "It's a nicer kind of poverty. It's like these people choose to live this way." Definitely won't shed a tear when they leave.

I'm psyched to see Rob and Amber in the next Race, though. The producers say they're a strong team. I enjoyed watching Alison from Big Brother last season. I'm surprised we don't see more contestant crossover on the big reality shows. I guess Survivor feels it doesn't need stunt casting, but I find it fascinating to watch familiar contestants in new surroundings.

Apropos of which, by the way, congrats again on your stint in the hotseat-- it was great fun to watch and root for you!

Jon's mea culpa. "I'm deeply sorry if I offended people out there. I look at what I saw up there, and I didn't like the person that I saw."

Also kinda excited to see Rob and Amber. There's been talk of CBS running something about their wedding as well, and CBS is pretty confident that they've got the best set of racers ever. I guess we'll see about that. (And I guess there's still time to try out for TAR8, whenever the new applications come out...)

But March 1? I need a breather!

Oh, yeah. I thought we hated Colin from TAR5--Jon was the biggest asshole ever. I think CBS must seek one of those guys out for every incarnation of the game.

When Jon hit Victoria at the pit stop that one time, I was actually amazed they let him continue playing. Was it me, or was Phil barely restraining his joy when he told them that they were eliminated?

I think Rob and Amber will be fun to watch.
