A Little Less Elvis

After digging the Las Vegas theme all season, I finally got around to downloading the full version of the song-- a remix of Elvis Presley's A Little Less Conversation. Now the damn thing's stuck in my head. And not just the groovy Elvis lyrics, but the rhythmic instrumental intro. I swear, someone could make a bundle by coming up with a pill that clears your head of persistent song memes.

Oh, and a posthumous tip of the hat to the King for blazing his own trail through the English language to give us the five-syllable "satisfactioning"-- without which the entire song would crumble.

Current song song stuck in my head...for 2 days now: The Prince by that group that sang Little Miss Can't Be Wrong. I've been having a LOT of stuck songs lately, possibly due to my new, very boring job. This is quite possibly the most horrible song so far of the recent crop, though it's not lasted as long (so far) as Bohemian Rhapsody a few weeks ago which was in my head for a good 9 or 10 days, I guess.

I think you mean "Two Princes" by the Spin Doctors. Sad that in my 21st straight hour of a 24 hour packing frenzy before getting a UHaul (which comes with a free thunderstorm after 2 weeks of nice weather) I knew that song. The one that got me for a couple weeks was "I Don't Wanna Be" by Gavin DeGraw (theme song for One Tree Hill). The refrain "I don't want to be anything other than what I've been trying to be lately" stuck in my head in the days leading up to my wedding.

I've got you all beat.

"Lay It Down", by everybody's favorite 80's hair band, Ratt.

The usual solution, if I don't already have it, is to find the MP3, listen to it once or twice, and that usually purges the song. But I haven't been able to find it.

Fortunately, it's coming down now. :)

Elvis vs. Junkie XL

I think it interesting that Nike, who were the first ones to use the song in a UK commercial changed it from Junkie XL to JXL.

I have it, of course, if you'd like a longer mix than you're used to from the Las Vegas opening.
