Oh, God.

I knew I shouldn't have watched Joan of Arcadia. Season Passes: 57, self control: 0.

Fifty-Seven Season Passes??? I hope you put a treadmill in front of the TV, otherwise you'll be about my size when I see you next April.

I've got about 32 Season Passes, and half of those are for my kids. I have to fill Tivo up with their shows so they don't try to go to LIVE TV when one of my shows is being taped. Egads.

The best thing to come out of it is that they have discovered one of my Season Passes: The Simpsons. They love it.

Finally, tell us a little bit about Joan of Arcadia. I had initially Season Passed it, but in a raving fit of self control, I cancelled it.

The cast-- which includes Mary Steenburgen, Joe Mantegna, and Amber Tamblyn-- is superb. Tamblyn is particularly good, which is important since so much of the show depends on her. What I especially like is how they're approaching the whole God angle. He speaks to Joan in the guise of a different normal person every time. No spotlights, no angelic glow. He's just a guy, who happens to be omniscient and has chosen Joan to be an agent. Joan, for her part, talks to God like any other adult. Since she's a teenager, this means irreverently. The dialogue is smart and believable, and the exchanges between Joan and God are what sold me on the show.
