Millionaire Auditions in Seattle

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? will be holding free auditions in Seattle at the KOMO building in Fisher Plaza on Friday, September 19th from 9AM-1PM. Only the first 800 people to arrive will be allowed to audition (I arrived around 7:20 AM last year, and was #201 in line).

Obviously, I recommend this to everyone-- my one audition was well worth the time invested. Even if I hadn't gotten on the show, it was a fun experience. And if you do get on, it's free money.

More details are available at KOMO's web site. Good luck!

I went to the official website and it says that if you do get picked to be on the show you are responsible to pay for all expenses incurred including transportation to New York City.
I think it would be worth it as well.

Yes, the rules have changed this year. Now you have to fly yourself to New York, get your own hotel room, and get yourself to the studio-- all on your own dime. When I taped at the end of last season, they took care of all of that for me, gratis. It definitely cuts into the winnings of the players who leave with $1,000. After taxes and expenses, you might have enough left for a nice dinner somewhere.

I'm planning to go, but I was thinking I'd have to camp out overnight to get a shot. If Peter says he got there at 7:20AM and was only #201 in line, maybe I'd be better off sleeping in my own bed and heading early in the morning. Any thoughts?

where were the august 26 auditions?

Well, I went to the auditions - got there at 7:05 and was #546 - and passed the test (8/100 in my group). There was a quick make-sure-you-can-complete-sentences-and-don't-try-to-maul-the-producer conversation and then we were outta there. Peter, any thoughts for the waiting period?

Unlike last year, this year everyone who passed the test will get a postcard letting them know if they're in the contestant pool or not. So at least you'll know for sure one way or the other. Good luck!

I have no idea what auditions you're talking about. The ones mentioned above were in September, in Seattle.
