Geek Test, You Passed

Speaking of geekiness, see how much you have with this geek test. It turns out I am merely a "Total Geek" with a scant 29.38856% of geekiness. Who knew?

Geek points in my favor: I immediately began objecting to the binary nature of the thing. I mean, shouldn't those of us who spent the time it takes to create our own language get more points than those who simply study Klingon?

Geek points against: It only took a few minutes before I scrolled to the bottom and realized I have no interest in spending that much time filling out a Geek Test.

Well, you did better (worse?) than me. I got 28.00789% - Total Geek.

I must admit though, quite a few of the questions are skewed for younger folks. Programming calculators for math class? We weren't allowed to use calculators in math class! There were others, but I've already forgotten them. My geek memory is slipping - probably why I scored so low.

I got a little over 30% - I'd record the exact number, but I'm enough of a geek to know that more than maybe one decimal place is meaningless given the number of questions on the test.

No points for naming pets after Trygve Lie?

No opportunity to tell eveyone why the answer to any "how many" question is 6.022 x 10^23?

Bah. Simply not a broad enough definition of geek.

Umm... I don't want to admit that I got:

52.07101% - Super Geek

I recently took this and scored higher, but I went through again and really tried to get myself out of answers on technicalities.

Jack, I sent Peter the link in the first place and was only slightly surprised (and mildly horrified) to find I had the highest score of anyone I knew personally. Like you I went back and tried to be conservative about what counted and still came up with the score listed below. I tap into the science, media, and gaming strains of geekhood (that the testers chose to use) enough to be an "Extreme Geek" at 56.6075%. A friend who encountered this on a private mailing list reported someone who topped out at 66%.

Major Geek - 42.2%. I'm not sure if I should feel good about that or not...

Wow, Dave. I'm glad that I know someone with a higher score than I have. :)
