Life Isn't Fair

Just what the world needed-- reinforcement that pretty people always win. In this case, a pretty, bratty, lazy person. Props to Jenna for winning the last two immunity challenges, both of which were essential to her survival. Nobody can accuse her of coasting through the last few days.

All the days leading up to that are a completely different story.

Not that Matt's much better, really-- he would have been toast without Rob-- but at least he was working his tail off from the get-go. He never whined about wanting to quit. He never got cocky enough to sunbathe while other tribe members worked.

And at the end, he only got one vote. I'm still baffled.

Jenna's win isn't as disappointing as Vesepia's from the Marquesas, but it's a close second.

Yeah, what we were allowed to see of Jenna was pretty bad. Maybe she was nicer and cooler and, well... "better" the other two days and 23 hours we didn't see on television each week.

Mmmm.... okay, I doubt it, too. But you never know.

As for Matt getting only one vote, I would have thought he would have a few more, as well... but I didn't think he was going to beat Jenna. His weirdness may or may not have been an act, but he was still weird. It's not like the tribe and jury members got to see him talk more "normally" to us, the viewers.

Plus, he won the car. I've always felt that it's tough for the car winner to win the million (though it is possible). If Tina had won that car, for example, maybe Colby takes home the big check.

Also, remember, the final 6 had two chances to get rid of Matt, who looked to us, the home viewers (well, me, anyway), as the biggest immunity challange threat... and not only didn't they take those opportunities, it wasn't even discussed. Again, in the footage we were allowed to see, anyway.

Sure, maybe Rob wanted to keep Matt, but so did Jenna and Heidi and Kristy (Christy?) and Butch. SOME of those people had to feel threatened by his physical ability, but maybe they knew better than we did than he wasn't going to get a lot of votes.

Which he didn't.

Against frickin' JENNA, fer Chrissakes!

I don't watch Survivor, and I didn't watch this one.

But when I heard the headline of "Swimsuit Model Wins Survivor," I just had to come and see what you'd have to say.

So, it's sweeps and a swimsuit model manages to win the show, huh? I haven't seen such fortuitous timing since the Halliburton contract.

I also do not watch Survivor. But I just wanted to comment on the headlines for the last couple entries - "Millionaire #2" "Stacked Against Me" "Life Isn't Fair". Peter, are you subconciously telling us something about your Millionaire taping? Is my $125,000 guess way over?
